The Bebras Competition was founded in Lithuania, and the word Bebras means Beaver in Lithuanian. As of 2023, more than 3 million students from more than 59 countries participated in Beaver worldwide every year
Cultivates students' creativity, information culture, algorithmic and computational thinking
Facilitates a deeper understanding of information technology
Illustrates to students the advantages of information technologies that are helpful in learning various subjects
Solves problems through computational thinking using computer-based solutions
Prepares the students with a good foundation in prepping for future digital economy jobs-
Computational Thinking is a thought process that allows one to break down problems and formulate solutions like how computers "think". It introduces the basic concepts of informatics and computer science. It involves a problem-solving process that includes (but is not limited to) the following characteristic
Formulating problems in a way that enables us to use a computer and other tools to help solve problems.
Logically organizing and analyzing data
Representing data through abstraction such as simulations
Automation solutions through algorithmic thinking (a series of steps)
Analyzing, and implementing possible solutions to achieve the most effective combination of steps and resources-
